investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

A multi-stage uncertain-volatility model

We consider a simple uncertain-volatility model for the asset price underlying a given option market. The asset price volatility is assumed to follow a discrete (actually finite) Markov chain σ, which changes value on some fixed future times. The volatility chain is independent of the Brownian motion governing the future evolution of the asset. Modeling the volatility evolution in this way is e...

The COS Method for Pricing Options Under Uncertain Volatility

We develop a method for pricing financial options under uncertain volatility. The method is based on the dynamic programming principle and a Fourier cosine expansion method. Local errors in the vicinity of domain boundaries, originating from the use of Fourier series expansions, may hamper the algorithm’s convergence. We use an extrapolation method to deal with these errors.

Analysis of an uncertain volatility model

Several extensions of the Black-Scholes model [3] have appeared in the literature (see, for a survey, Epps [6]) aiming to capture the characteristic observed patterns of the implied volatility given by the market. Here we are concerned with the seemingly promising model proposed by Hobson and Rogers [8] who assume that the volatility is a deterministic function of the history of the spot proces...

A New Stock Model for Option Pricing in Uncertain Environment

The option-pricing problem is always an important part in modern finance. Assuming that the stock diffusion is a constant, some literature has introduced many stock models and given corresponding option pricing formulas within the framework of the uncertainty theory. In this paper, we propose a new stock model with uncertain stock diffusion for uncertain markets. Some option pricing formulas on...
